I have been using AGK for some time now usually with the XVID codec but sometimes with the XVID codec. I want he files to displayed subtitles in the correct place but normally this never happens with either codec.

I tries encoding 5 files yesterday with the new DIVX 6.4 codec & was surprised the 4 of the 5 files had the subtitles were in the correct place. The fifth had the titles but would only display them in a large red box that covered about 80% of the screen. Why 4 out of 5 & not 5 out of 5 I can't imagine.

I would prefer to use the XVID codec but have yet to get the titles to display in the correct place. Is this situation likely to improve?

Are you using hard-encoded subs or external?

I'm not ceretain as to what you mean. What I'm after are titles that display only when I want them, not ones that display all of the time.

Hi!

Did you extract either the fifth subtitle stream or the fifth video and audio streams file from your original DVD in a different manner than the other four?

You've been on this forum and asking questions for almost a year, and you still can't answer such a simple question? If you'd do your homework and learn what things mean and how they'd work you'd be able to answer a lot of your own questions.

"Hard-encoded" subs are burned right onto the video image and are part of the picture. External, or text subs, can be turned on or off, but aren't necessarily a separate file. They can be part of the video file and will display by default and still not be hard-encoded.
