Still frames removed

I have a series of still frame titles which last about 30-40 frames each. However, when encoding using virtualdub, all of the titles are shortened to a mere frame.

I added in some effects to have the titles move just slightly and that seems to solve the problem. But is there any other way? I would like to have still frame titles.

SOLVED!
When I created my avs file, I used megui. This used a DirectShowSource line for my DV avi file. After changing the script to AviSource, everything works like a charm!
