I was wondering what program I'm suppose to use to encode the audio. Cuz I thought everything thta was needed was in the Package Download. Well when I just use the package i don't ever get an audio file. and so I started using Graphedit, from doing SVCD's, and that works but my audio is a second faster than the movie so it looks retarded. If it's not becuase of my audio encoding and has to do with some setting in GKnot I hope someone knows and can help.
Thanx in advance.

just check 'demux all tracks' in dvd2avi before you save the project-file and you get one or more ac3-files.
you can either just mux it/them into your avi or transcode to mp3.
please read doom9's guide.

I have read that guide like a million times. well not that many times. it never says anything about where your going to get your audio track from it just says that Gordian will do your audio for you and never says anything about it so. So do I load my audio right before I'm about to encode, at that very last screen and I save&encode??

The one that says "DivX encoding control panel". just go to "audio 1" and select the ac3-file. the go back to "DivX 3" or "DivX 4" and press "Add Job...".
could it be more simple?

p.s.: did you read the how-to?

k could you be any more of a smart ass. Like newbies like me come here to get help at this. And beyond help, we get criticized for not knowing what were doing. I dont' knwo but I think I might have to find the definition of help in the dictionary for you. But maybe you should go read the guide and tell me where it says that cuz it doesn't say it. otherwise if I did and I had read it I'm sure I wouldn't be asking you these questions but thanx anyways.

from the how-to:
what's new in gordian knot 0.20 beta:
- audio support added. now this really makes it easy!
doom9.org has the official guide.
here a short desription of what you have to do:
1) rip with smartripper - movie mode.
2) create d2v-project, demux all tracks.
3) optional: start vobsub and strip subtitles.
4) have a look at vts_0x_INFO.txt to find out which .ac3-file contains the language(s) you want.
5) open d2v
6) resize and enter all calculator values, e.g. 'add' the size of your vobsub-files in 'files'.
7) if you want to use ac3-sound 'select' the file you want to mux for one or both channels.
if you want mp3-sound choose a bitrate (estimation, will be corrected automatically when
audio-encoding is finished).
don't forget correct interleave-settings and check'Calculate Frame Overhead'.
8) in the video window move to the correct frame and 'Set Credits Start'.
9) press 'Save & Encode'.
10) recommended:
Trim -> 'Movie Only'
in Compressibility Check choose 5% and press 'now' (wait ~5-10min).
check bits/(pixel*frame), adjust calculator settings and resolution, press 'Save & Encode' again.
11) Trim -> 'Both (encode credits separately)'
12) press 'Save and Encode'.
13) encoding control panel: everything is filled in automatically, just choose divx 3 or 4.
if you want to do audio encoding (i'm sure you do ;-) ) select an 'audio source file' in 'Audio 1'
(and maybe 'Audio 2') and set audio-encoding-options.
audio source file can be .ac3 .wav or .mp3, the latter can not be transcoded but muxed only.
14) go back to divx 3 or 4 (your choice) and press 'Add Job to Encoding Queue', say 'yes' when asked
to start the encoder.
15) queue as many jobs as you like and watch the log output ;-)
audio is processed using azid (2-pass) and lame. read the encoder-log to see how it works.
