I've seen that 99 min CDRs are labeled as 870 MB, but does that include overhead? If all I want to burn to the CD is a single 870MB (Mode 1) will that fit with the overhead?

I'm going to order a bunch on Friday, but I want to start encoding divx before I get them. I just want make sure the files I make will fit on the 99min CDr, so I need a cutoff value for size.

Alls you can do is maybe look on ahead.de for nero information, I'm sure they have the overhead for finalizing somewhere. I'm using a older version of nero, so couldnt tell you.

I did a max capacity test on my lot of 99 minute cdr's.

100minutes and 13 seconds - not half bad.

Remember that you have to make sure how far can your cd-burner go.
I have Yamaha 8x8x24 (good, old one - just love it) and I can go only as far as 787MB, so there is no sense for me to buy 99 minutes cds. I buy those 90 minutes and they're just fine.
take care
