Reading tons of guide and after ripping test i still confused. i really don't know what way is the best one.

I want to rip my Dvd and stores all in my HDD.
First of all ,i don't want my PC run hours to rip a dvd. The faster, the better

I want all my movie are :
- about 700MB -1.5GB
- have great quality as the movie i got from the internet in Xvid or divx

For example : i have Hard Candy
ViDEO : 794 kbps xvid
AUDiO : 137 kbps vbr mp3
RESOLUTiON : 672x288 (2.31:1)
# DiSCS : 1

The quality is great. Only 700MB. Do you think it depends on the Dvd source?

i 've use AutoGk . Everything 's fine except the time AutoGK used to rip. I don't remember exactly but more than 4 hours at least. Ratdvd or Divx Converter take me more time than that.

Nero Recode seems to give me good result. Nero digital AVC takes me about more than 400 minutes when Nero digital only need less than 100 minutes. Is Nero Digital AVC better than Nero Digital ?
Some told me that the newest Nero Recode in nero premium 7.5.2 slows down the speed of ripping. Recommend me the good version pls.

In conlcusion , i want my Dvdrip quality is as good as the quality of movie from the good rippers such as Diamond, . How is the best quality i got if my Dvdrips size are from 700MB-1.5GB and the software does'nt take hours to finish ripping ?

Thank in advance. Wait for your answer. Thanks

You might start by re-reading the forum rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm), particularly #'s 6 and 12. This is not the place to discuss downloaded movies for any reason, even for comparison.

There are many ways to convert a DVD to an AVI file, and AutoGK is the easiest. All of them take hours to do a movie, and the better you want the quality, the longer it will take. You've already experimented with several converters - that's the way to proceed to find one that suits your needs and preferences.

You will be hard pressed to find a high quality encoding method which does not take a long time. If you want a high quality result, be prepared for up to 24hrs per DVD.
Personally, I recommend using MeGUI. Follow the link in my signature for a walkthrough on how to rip a DVD.

24 hrs per DVD? Is that typical from MeGUI for a movie? I can usually do a 2+ hour long movie, 720 width and 2200 MB in about 8 hours using Gordian Knot, and I'm in serious need of a computer upgrade.

"typical from MeGUI for a movie?"
Remember, MeGUI and GK are frontends. They make use of othe programs to do the encoding so the choice of frontend is independant of encoding time.
The 24hrs figure is on the high end, but of course i'm using x264 whereas you use xvid, I tend to use mvbob as my deinterlacer, and I also encode in full DVD resolution whereas GK limits you to 1:1 par.
