Is there any libMatroska development documentation?

I've been searching the web and reading posts and so forth and I can't find any simple "Here's how you use libmatroska to read a file" documentation.

Does such documentation exist?
And if so, where can I find it?

I don't think there is a such thing but you can read the specs (http://www.matroska.org/technical/index.html) on the website or mkvtoolnix sources. ;) Otherwise ask directly to Matroska developpers via Mailing-List.
