Ive sucessfully ripped one dvd so far (came out prefect!), but for the past several days when i try to encode the rip of several more dvds, both virtualdub & nandub crash when doing the first pass! (it does this on the 3.11 & 4.11 codecs) anyone have a way to fix this?
my system:
athlon 1ghz
win xp
394 mb ram
voodoo5 64mb
gknot v21
also, the single pass button is grayed out in both divx3 and 4, why is this?

Me too, cant get anything in Gnot to work for me, keeps crashing and giving me BSOD everytime. I believe this is an Intel Favoring program.
Heard several people compaining about it with Amd processors. :(

because this function is not implemented yet. ;)
i'm sorry that quite a few people are having stability problems. though i doubt that this has anything to do with gordian knot itself. there is nothing i can do about it, you know that gknot is a gui only.
my own system is a tbird 1400, asus a7v with win xp. all included programs run stable without problems.
so, all i can say to the people getting crashes is:
check your drivers, check your hardware,...well, ask doom9 about all the difficulties he had. often it's very hard and takes a long time to really find out what causes the problems.
divx encoding with mpeg2dec is the stability-test for every system.
in any case you have to provide as many tiny details as possible to get help. and even if you write a 3-pages-post nobody might have an answer for your question. still it's worth a try.

I think i solved my problem, this may help other people...I uninstalled gknot (del the directory, cuz theres no option in add/remove) and re-installed it, this time i said NO when asked if i wanted divx 4.11 decoder to play all 3.11 content (i said no this time like gknot suggests to, last time i didnt)
I ripped a dvd succesfully with the newly installed gknot using the divx 3 codec, the new version of the 4 codec was released today v4.12 (it said it fixed some crashing issues) so i d/l that and installed it saying NO again, and nandub still didnt crash when i ripped/encoded another dvd after that
hope this helps anyone
