View Full Version : mplayerc slow to start playback

So recently media player classic has been taking a really long time to open videos. It doesn't seem to matter the container format, the codec, etc... I will double click on a file, and mpc will show up, but it will say "opening" at the lower left, and it will sit there for between 5 and 30 seconds, saft locking the whole computer...

I have tried removing superfulous software and codecs, but I still have the issue. Non dshow based VLC works perfectly, as does dshow based mplayer2, so it's gotta be a problem with mpc.

ideas?

Oh, and AC3filter seems to be giving me trouble too. Some of my encodes (with AAC audio created with Nero's encoder) seem to have incorrect channel mapping, with the left and center channels flipped. I have to reset the matrix manually for all of these and then put it back on auto for other encodes. Ideas on why this happens and how to fix this?

Are you using Haali's renderer?

Indeed. Forgot to mention that.

Switching to VMR7 or overlay mixer fixes it.

Wierd, what's behind that?

It's a known fact that Haali's Renderer freezes the system for abot 15 sec on startup. Doesn't happen on all systems. But the problem has been reportet by many users. I have the problem too. Haali says he doesn't know what the problem is, so it cannot be fixed...

Maybe a special version of the render with a lot of data logged can help ... ?!

To see where this CPU time go for exemple ... :p

If Haali write it ( And if the log file is an ASCII text only ) : I'm ok to run this tools on my system who freeze about 20s ...

... And you guys ?
