After having spent hours in front of the screen I give up and look for your help. I was unsure if to open a new TD or to use one of the two huge already existing, hope to have chosen the correct way.
My MPC 6.4.9.0 doesn’t manage some DVD menus (I haven’t understood which is the element that characterize the “bad” menus) while other players (such as PowerDVD, VLC) work correctly; this happens both from DVD driver and from hard disk.
Although I’m not the only one to spot this behavior (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=114374) I don’t think is a bug but I believe that my MPC is not configured as it should.
Thanks in advance for avoiding to drive me mad!!!

Yeah, sometimes the menus feel out of place. I'll have to roll my mouse over a different area (not the text) for the selection to highlight then I click.

JarretH, thanks for confirming a strange behaviour.
Actually I was experiencing a worst situation than yours: the buttons on my menu didn’t appear at all. After having lost many hours around I installed DirectX 9.0c (I had version 8.0 before); because of this new piece of sw (unbelievable for me!!!) I’m now in your same situation and, I would say, the standard situation for MPC in this moment. I’m now looking forward for the next release hoping that it will fix this problem !

i'd love to see arrow-key navigation...

I was under the impression MPC didn't support keyboard menu navigation either, but either I've been wrong all along or they recently added them (I think the former since I found a relevant post at sourceforge mentioning this from 2003).
The problem is they are not assigned keys by default. Personally I just added the "shift" combo to the default numpad key assignments and assigned the numpad keys to DVD navigation.

I had this problem till I switched to the nVidia mpeg2 decoder. I can't remember for certain but I'm pretty sure that fixed it.

Thats funny... NVidia MPEG2 encoder is one of the encoders which works the worst with menus for me... :/
