Just curious other than using Vobsub Configure to extract subtitle tracks to .sub and .idx, is there any other program that will do the same thing...and faster. Will Subrip do this?

I don't know any other. Subrip does not, which is a pity.

It does not work with files larger then 4Gb, though.

well...split your VOBs into 1 Go then.
