First try with the new Gordianknot, and i can say it works fine. But there is one thing i am wondering about...
I was to lazy to do a Compressibilty Check, and encoded the movie directly. I woke up this morning and my PC was still running and their was an error message on my display. "Desired Video Size is bigger than First Pass". No problem, higher resolution and it works fine. But my problem is that GordianKnot didn't shutdown WindowsXP. Version 0.19beta shuts down after a failed first pass, but not this one.

Someone able to tell me a solution which don't need another programm for shutting down?

But better is a fix in the next Gordian Knot version :)

what version are you using?
does it shut down if encoding is successful?

I'm using 0.20.1 beta.
First try last night with this version, and i don't tested if it really shuts down when encoding is finished correctly.
Damn, i should think before i ask for advice :(

I will report tomorrow.

I got (almost) the same problem!
I use Gknot ver 0.21b
I use 2-pass VBR, seperate credits, ac3, bla bla bla...!!!!
But... when i wake up next morning i find my PC running (i check the sutdown option!) and i am logged to windows as a different user or something like that, i cant really recal now because i allways hit the reset asap!!!!!

Something is wrong. Maybe win98se (ok,ok i am going to upgrade(??) to XP) i dont know, or mayby because my win98 is really f****d up (sorry)

Oh... and something else...
The compression test? Oh my gooood : B.S.O.D for me too!!!!!!

I fear, I didn't check this option. But I was so sure I did...
I tried again this night, and it works fine. No computer was running this morning :)

The compression test works fine (more or less). No bluescreen or a system freeze. I seems to be a Win98 problem.
