View Full Version : Possible Problem with DVD-RB Pro v. 1.10.7

I don't want to wrongly create any undue concern, but when I tried to install the new version of DVD-RB Pro, version 1.10.7, my Kaspersky anti-virus program started squealing like a pig and I got an error trying to install avisynth_256.exe, saying access was denied, and a file was deleted by Kaspersky, called is-ATL58.tmp, because it said it contained the Trojan Program Trojan-PSW.Win32.I.dPinch.axb.
Since I already had avisynth 2.56 installed, and Kaspersky did its job, it was no big deal to me. But this might be a problem to look into (just in case a bad copy of avisynth was incorporated into version 1.10.7.
Good luck.

@mnfesq
DVD-RB doesn't install any trojan/spyware/'whater'ware. Period. This is a false positive alert (the 'funny' thingh is that this sort of antivirus complaint just happens with OS/Free applications :rolleyes: )

I have been using DVD-RB Pro for over a year now (my first Pro version was 1.00RC4) and I have never encountered this problem before. It certainly may be a false positive, but that could be just as much of a problem for jdobbs as a true positive. I figured it was my duty to report this installation issue because it can only help to make DVD-RB a better program. Again, I did not post this to create any sort of panic, just to raise an alert to a potential issue. We're all on the same side here, ok?
P.S. - I have stopped using Norton AV as of 2006, after having used it for the past 6 years, because the program has gotten so overloaded and uses up way too much resources. I have tested a few AV programs and really like Kaspersky. It's not some freeware/OEM app.

I just downloaded it and scanned it with McAfee AV and it says it is clean. It's a false positive by Kaspersky.
I think it is interesting that Kaspersky was criticised in this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=112614) thread as possibly conflicting with CCE -- and now suddenly an EXE (avisynth_256.exe) file that hasn't changed since December 2005 causes a false positive... conspiracy theory anyone? ;)

I guess I'll just have to give my computer a high colonic. You can delete this thread if it sends out the wrong message about your great program.

I'll leave it up for a while, just in case someone else gets the false positive.
