I installed DVD-RB with build 5456 (the one just after Beta2) and it appeared to run OK. I didn't have much of a chance to test it because system bugs made the install unusable.

I played around with RC1 earlier this week, but haven't tried DVD-RB yet. The last thing I did was try to install Daemon tools which resulted in a BSOD. Since rebooting from that I've been in XP.

In Vista, only Deamon Tools 3.33 works. Never try the newer 4.x versions. It will probably (and most likely) result in a BSOD (it happened to me :/).

so then the best thing to do is to wait until they fix the bugs in vista,,they are releasing it in january 07,,oh joy,,think ill stick with what works for now,,xp pro with rebuilder pro,,if its not broken dont fix it,,once its out and guys and gals use rebuilder with it,,ill read about all the fun in here,,,cheers:p

I doubt Deamon Tools will work right with Vista. The reason is the Kernal Patching and because Deamon Tools uses the Kernel (especially 4.x versions), it probably won't work.

I finally found time to get back to trying Vista but found my install BSODs during bootup, even in safe mode.

Oh, and I did do a little reading before trying to install Daemon Tools and knew v4.x did not work. I was trying to install v3.47 since I had it on my HD already and didn't read anyone reporting it not working at that time.

Apparently DTools 4.06 has full Vista support.

Just a thought but... you didn't upgrade? When doing a new install, one should make sure to do a system restore point before installing anything of deamon tools-type. That includes anti-virus & firewall. If Vista BSODs, just roll back.
