Heyas all

Okay here is my dilemma

I download DivX files at university, we have a nice high speed connection there (1 meg/sec at least, always handy) plus we have cd-writers, which is nice

:)

But the problem is, we can't install the DivX codec there on the Win2K machines.. in fact we can't write to the C: drive at all. We have our own network space though about 50 megs.

Anyway, can someone make a player for DivX movies which does not require the installation of the codec.. you just unzip the required files, the divx files and the files for the player proggy in to a single directory, and it will load the codec into memory while the app is running. It would be great for previewing things we download..

Hope someone can help!!

BSPlayer can do that.

Quote from BSPlayer Homepage ( http://www.bstnet.org/index.html ):

Decoder filters can now be dynamically loaded. Usefull for people who don't have administrative rights or don't want to register them.
Just put filters in player directory. For ex. if you have DivX 3 compressed AVI with MPEG Layer III (mp3) sound, you need to put
DIVX_c32.ax and l3codecx.ax in player directory and movie will play fine. (Note: DivX 4 can also be used to decode DivX 3 files)
