View Full Version : Cannot see anything in preview?

Hello,

I can't figure out why I cannot see anything when trying to preview a DVD. Old editor shows black screen, and so does the new beta one. When I try to drag the slider to right, it resets back to leftmost position. Tried using 1.10.5/6/beta. The percentage slider works as it should with the beta.

I uninstalled Avisynth when I upgraded to the latest version and let it install 2.5.6

Any ideas?

Otherwise it's really great software, I don't regret one bit donating and I love it! :thanks:

Have you tried looking at more than one segment? Many DVD's have a lot of blank segments in them. Click on the VTS that is labeled as "(Feature)" and try to view some of its contents.

Hmm, now the slider works but the preview screen shows only black.

reinstall all codecs included avisynth, fddshow may be interefering with avisynth

I don't currently have ffdshow installed. Just some old codec pack with newer XviD and Real/Quicktime codecs. I don't know if DVD-RB uses Avisynth for preview, but .avs scripts work fine with MPC. Preview works in RB-Opt too (it doesn't work the same way but thought to say it).

I think too that something might be conflicting with the preview on my computer because it seems to work fine with other people. And I can always use it without preview (or use RB-Opt), because I know which cell I should alter. I'll format and reinstall later on anyway when I have more time.

Thanks for the suggestions :)

All reports I've gotten so far related to a blank screen in the viewer (other than initial debugging) were caused by other codecs conflicting with the Microsoft defaults.
