Probably a simple matter, but whenever I try to use AVISynth lately the colors are consistently skewed to some lower color depth. Using the ConvertToRGB function solves the problem, but that should not be at all necessary since I rip to a YUV D2V file. (And this means that some processes for ripping Anime no longer work since they're dependent on YUV) It used to work fine, I got Shrek and Ep. 1-24 of Cowboy Bebop without such trouble.
What happened?

Make sure you use DVD2AVI 1.76 and not 1.8X...that is what cleared that issue up for me...the 1.8 dont output YUV correctly I believe

I am. 1.8X (Any hack) all misreported the FPS as 24.000 not 23.976 so I dumped them. The problem seems almost random sometimes, I wonder if a Windows reinstall might help...
