View Full Version : Newbie: Burning back to DVD/get massive tiling

I've been receiving mpg files. I'm using TMPGEnc to convert them to true MPEG-2 files. Then I'm using neoDVD to burn onto DVD.

The problem I'm having is that on both the MPEG-2 file and the actual DVD I am getting massive tiling (whether an action scene or not - seems to be more on darker scenes than lighter ones).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. (Just remember I am a Newbie - but I do pick up on the stuff real quick.)

Thanx in advance,

Elaine

@alwysme:

Hi there Elaine ...

If your converted mpeg-2 files already appear tiled or blocky even before you burn them to dvd, you definately have a problem with either the source file quality or the TMPGEnc Settings.

What kind of input mpg do you have ( mpg1 or mpeg2, pal or ntsc, interlaced or progressive, bitrate, resolution, cartoons or movies or ?? ).
And what tmpegenc settings do you use at the time ?!

If you let me know more details i think i can help you ...

If you think that should be shared with others post it here otherwise send an email.

Bye,
