I bought windvd 2 weeks ago but there is a strange problem.
I can use windvd to play the divx file with AC3 audio (although I cannot choose the audio output by myself). However I can never play DVD with AC3 output using the 6/4 speaker mode, unless using the SPDIF output and decode by my sound card. The rear speaker output is just the copy of the front speakers and human voice can be heard from all speakers except subwoofer.
WMP also plays divx+AC3 flawlessly with 6 speaker mode (using intervideo audio decoder).
When I installed WinDVD in WinMe, it plays DVD well.
My WinDVD is ver 3.1, DTS version bought from internet and it should support multi-channel output. I never used DVD genie.
OS: W2K + SP2 + Directx 8.1 + DMA enabled
Hardware: A7V + Athlon 1G + 512M + Audigy + ATI AIW Radeon
Audigy driver already updated with patch. I've tried every speaker setting of sound card driver without success.
Please help me to solve the above problem.
