Hi all,

I'm getting crazy with this... a friend of mine come with a Panasonic AG HVX200, he also owns a FS100 drive, so we shoot a few things..., directly in the drive... great !

After that we download the clips ( .DV format ) to my PC with XP... but I could not open them...

I need to change the codec, but all tools I tested failed to open them....

I take a couple of clips to another friend and test with a software from Canopus, Procoder 2.0 and well, it opens the 1440x1080 files, but not the 1280x720 ( it recognizes as 720x480 and crashes )

Any idea ? :thanks:

Best,
Kikolas.

HD from hvx is never DV (probably dvcpro HD)..., you can find some info on my blog (check the q5 and bellow)

If you need an nle program that supports DVCPRO HD (720p and 1080i) I can recommend Final Cut Pro HD.
However I don't know if FCP can read the files directly from P2 cards.

btw. good choice of camcorder - DVCPro HD is much better than HDV!
If only those P2 cards weren't as expensive - but you say you can record to a firestore drive as well?

theReal, other than firestore, panasonic also sells a little portable HD (battery powered) that has a p2 card reader (where you can dump your cards), and if you have say 2x4 gigs p2, then you can work that way and keep the smallnes/portability of the camera intact.
