DVD burner advice?

Hi, I would really love some advice as to which DVD burner I should get. The Que! QPS DVD burner is only $350 at CompUSA (after rebate) and I was thinking about getting it. The Pioneer DVR-A03 is about $100 more online. I cannot find a review of the QPS anywhere and the only things that worry me from the specs are the 1MB buffer and the 1x write (but the 1MB should be fine for only 1x, right?). The Pioneer has a 2MB buffer and 2x write. Does anyone have the QPS? Can anyone give me some advice as to which one is better at the price? Thanks

Don't even consider anything other than the pioneer. I read a review on the Que! and theres a reason its a hundred less, and its not just because its half the speed

I would suggest you get the Pioneer. I have several, and haven't had any problems at all. It also writes DVD-RWs, which is convenient, as I can burn a DVD on one of those, test it, redo it, test it... until it works just how I want it to. Then... I can burn an actual DVD-R. Nice.

My problem was that all my ide channels were full of hard drives and cd-roms.
i opted for the Panasonic LD-311 Rambo DVD-RAM external firewire drive.
Very, very nice....no problems with any software.

I thought DVD-Ram isn't supported by standalones? Plus the pioneer burns CDR and CDRW's

the Rambo is a RAM and DVD-R recorder...haven't tried burning a CD yet....will let you know.
interesting...after ripping Reservoir Dogs, i get VOB's 1,4,6,7,8....not 1,2,3,4,etc.
any idea commander?
btw...using your method, i've done 10 PERFECT movies...many thanks.

Man, I don't know why you would get that, thats a short movie, you may be able to rip the movie vobs in file mode (leaving all tracks) and it still may fit. You could try the ifoedit method on the vobs you have just to see what happens. In fact, always right click on the original DVD just to see how big it is in case you can do a
complete backup, I though Reservoir Dogs was a 4.3 giger
