Elf R1 .srt format with SubRip

I know that Elf (2003 R1) has suntitles onit because I can access them on my SAP, but when I try to locate them with SubRip, it won't display any subtitles.

Has anyone been able to locate the subtitle stream and if so how.

I Rip the DVD with DVDD (like usual), load the IFO file, I get a message about closed captions, and stream 00 comes up with ???. It doesn't indicate any language and no other streams indicate anything at all. i get one stream; '00-???"

Any ideas or is this one of those realy hard subs to get like Star Wars Episode-1?

Just select the '00-???' stream. It´s more likely to carry the subtlites. I have at least 2 DVDs that report even the wrong subtiltes stream (as in 01-Spanish actually being Portugues or English).

Well that is what I did and SubRip found nothing in the stream. It was like there wasn't a subtitle stream at all, but I know there is one. But for some reason, SubRip can't see it. 1st time that I have had this issue and I've done 100's of DVDs.
