Im considering upgrading to a 8500DV, the gaming preformance looks great and the digital tuner reminds me of the Voodoo TV (ohh those were the days). If anyone owns or has used this card what are your personal likes and dislikes of this card. Specifically the TV Tuner (for all you TV-Rippers out there). Im mainly going to be doing TV and DV captures.

I know im probably going to get flamed for this but I absolutely love my AIW Radeon. Im wondering if I should stick with what I've got or upgrade. Or possibly look towards another product that will accomplish the same functions. Also, ive noticed that people tend to complain about ATI's Driver support and ive never had a problem between all my ATI cards (TV Wonder VE, AIW PRO, AIW Radeon).

Thanks in advance guys and i apologise if this question has been asked before. The search function seems to be disabled.

Please don't bump your own threads. But since I want to buy an 8500DV, could you please answer one question: does it support both PAL and NTSC? (on a single board, not separate European / American versions)

While we're at it could you do me a favor and see if you can help on
this (http://rilanparty.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12507) thread?

As far as my own personal testing goes it does NTSC very well but since im in the states i dont have access to a PAL signal to test it.

I read a Russian review on the 8500DV and he spoke admirably of the quality of the tuner. As far as I know, Russia uses a PAL signal for TV transmissions. The hardware he obtained was donated from an online merchant located in the US, so as far as I can see you shouldnt have a problem.

I just ran across this on ATI's own website. Hope it helps.

NTSC (North America, Japan, and Latin America*)

PAL B/G/D/K/I and Secam L/D/K (Europe and International PAL/Secam countries)
