Can VDubMod be used to edit AC3

If I load a VOB into VDubMod, make some cuts by deleting several selections, then demux the AC3 stream, will the saved AC3 file be a useable stream without errors (i.e. will a muliplexor accept it for authoring a DVD)?

If not, what's the alternative? Do I need to make a note of the cut points manually and use besplit?
