How do i get "dat" file type on final nero vcd???
I created svcd with dvd2svcd no problem. But on my final cd created with Nero 5.5 I end up with mpeg file type, instead of the "dat" file type.
My dvd player does not play this type of file correctly, but it does play the "dat" file type.
Can anyone help with this. Thank you.

SVCD has the (mpeg2) video in avseqxx.mpg files in the mpeg2 directory, VCD has the (mpeg1) video in avseqxx.dat in the mpegav directory ...
If you have an SVCD-compatible player, things should be fine. Some players need some modifications to the directory structure in order to properly recognize an SVCD: http://www.vcdimager.org/pub/vcdimager/manuals/0.7/vcdimager.html#SEC82 has some suggesions.
If you want or need .dat, you should do standard VCDs ...

I Have stopped creating my SVCDs with Nero because of missing compatibilities with some DVD players and am using TSCV 0.82 from http://www.ttools.org now, its coming with a nice burner called CD-DRAO burning from CUE/BIN files TSCV was creating before, including menu's, chapters, etc. ... very good compatibility ...
