Everytime I open up this DVD in DVD Shrink, I keep getting this error when I get to a certain point:

It keeps happening at the same point in this DVD. What could be going on? Thanks

Hi!

What is the Title and Region of the DVD?What could be going on?A CRC error indicates that there's either a problem with the physical DVD (scratched, dirty, Peanut Butter and Jelly) - or a very early version of "ARccOS" copy protection, that DVD Shrink cannot resolve. First, try cleaning the DVD. If DVD Shrink still generates this error:

Use DVD Decrypter v.3.54 to "rip" the DVD to your hard drive in "File" mode - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All files" (NOT "movie files").

Then use DVD Shrink v.3.2xxx to "Open files" (NOT "Open Disk")

If that doesn't do the trick, return it to the place of purchase in exchange for a NEW replacement...

Ah... Sailor Moon. It's been such a long time since I last watched it. Before, I would've been able to tell what episode that scene was from... :o

@ilovejedd - please observe rule 3. Keep the focus. Your post added nothing to help the OP.

@BlazingFire456 - after trying setarip's advice, which is good, try to rip the DVD with RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/).

Nope, everything is giving errors at that same point. What I don't get is, it plays just fine in my DVD player. It doesn't start screwing up or anything at that point, it just plays fine. It's only happening on my computer. Is it possible that my DVD drive itself just sucks? Though I never have any problems with any other DVD.

Some standalond DVD players are far better at "getting past" read errors than most DVD-ROMs and DVD burners.

Again, I'd suggest that return it to the place of purchase in exchange for a NEW replacement...

Ok thanks, even though I bought it online, and that DVD isn't in print anymore. It's gonna suck trying to get a new one.

Have you, as yet (as I previously suggested) tried cleaning the DVD?

If so, as a last resort, you might want to try using DVDFab Decrypter to rip it. DVDFab Decrypter has a reputation for writing "dummy" sectors as replacements for unreadable sectors...

OMG, it actually worked! Thanks! Sorry I thought you had said DVD Decrypter at first, which also gave errors. Thank god for the person who made that program! Much thanks.

Also, I tried cleaning it, but I didn't find any scratches on it or anything. But what I did find, was two small bubbles on it. Maybe a pressing error? I guess that may have been the reason.

Anyway, :thanks:

OMG, it actually worked!Glad to hear that ;>}

I presume the "it" is DVDFab Decrypter?

@Blazing Fire456

I would watch your ripped DVD at the point where you had trouble. DVD Fab Decrypter indiscriminately inserts dummy sectors to replace bad ones. So you may have the illusion of having a good rip where in fact it may be not so good. One or two sectors will be almost untoceable. But several hundred or thousand will be very bad.

Good luck.

@blutach

It looks like you missed post #8 in this thread...

Just "re-warning the OP" that a good rip is not always so. BTW: The scratch detection is one thing I particualrly find useful in RipIt4Me (http://www.ripit4me.org/). :)

Thanks, I have rewatched it, and everthing looks great. I just hope that Sailor Moon: Hearts Collection 2 doesn't have this problem.

Nope, it is confirmed. My DVD burner literally sucks! I tried it in an old Phillips DVD drive(can't burn) and not only did it read the disc faster (6,000KB/s) but it doesn't give any errors on that DVD when using DVD Shrink or DVD decryptor.

My DVD burner by Hewlett Packard can only read discs up to 2,500KB/s. Mind telling me what DVD drive you use?

My current burner is a Pioneer 108.

Before giving up on your burner, try running a DVD/CD cleaning disc on it. Maxell makes one that sells for approximately $10US...

Thanks, you been big help. I am thinking about buying a dual layer burner soon anyway, but I'll try the cleaner you suggested.
