View Full Version : v1.05build1: new default bitrate settings??

This is more a question of curiosity. Why are the default bitrate settings so much lower in DVD2SVCD v1.05b1?

I have always used Max bitrate 2498 and Max Average bitrate 2400 without problems. Sometimes, on very short movies, I raise these even higher--although I usually make a bitrate difference at least 95. Still I do not exceed 2723 total, audio and video.

Most of the time, I use CBR with TemporalSmoother (2,1) so I know more or less what the bitrate will be before encoding. So, what is the reasoning behind making the new defaults so much lower?

Thanks again for the great program.

PS. Apologies in advance if the answer to this post appears in another thread

it is basicaly to avoid CCE freezes while encoding with multipass.
