Dear Friends,

We do VCD Authoring with menus having chapters, songs etc etc.So it take lot of time to Author a VCd and then it is checked in all ways and sent for replication. All our titles goes for replication.

Some times we get complain from replicator that it has Data reading error in VCd or some different errors. So we have to re- Author the VCD and send a new master for replicator. We waste lot of time in that and also creat bad image on our Authoring facility.

Can you suggest some Professional softwares which can show us errors after burning the VCD,so we dont send that vcd for replication and burn a new VCD.I mean a good software which replicators use before making Stamper.

Thanking You,
Zerohash.

This is a good question, but it's kind of strange too as I would think if you were doing professional VCD authoring that you would already have access to the right software. I am not aware of what professionals use to check their VCDs. You could download VCDGear (it's free) and use the DAT->MPG conversion tool. This will report any errors it finds.

It might be helpful to know what you are using to author your VCDs. Please note that Nero does NOT fully obey VCD specifications, but it comes close. I thought that VCDeasy (http://www.vcdeasy.org) did obey VCD specifications, but I've read that some people say it doesn't.

Finally, if you don't get a better answer here than mine, please note that the VCD/SVCD forum at http://www.dvdrhelp.com has a few people who deeply understand VCD. Someone there might have a better answer for you than on this forum. Most of us at Doom9 live in countries where VCDs aren't produced commercially, so we aren't experts in the format.

Hi!

Are you actually creating "masters" (I don't even know if this is done for VCDs) or are you simply burning originals on burnable media?

If it's the latter, try using the highest quality burnable VD media available and burn at the lowest speed possible.

Dear Friensds,

Thanks for your time and giving reply. We are using Videopack-4 for VCD Authoring and it is a PRO software.Dat to Mpeg can show me errors but many times the errors are in media too. There are softwares available with replicators which scans media as well as data so you are 100% sure of sending the right disc to replication.if you come across of such softwares then please help by writing.

Thanks.

Just use better quality media for your masters and send 2 copies, 99.999% of problems would then be solved.
