My elder brother just gave me a DVD transfer from his wedding, which was originally on tape. I want to re-encode the video (since the transfer was quite badly done) and the audio (in order to have 5.1 surround) but keep everything else intact. I'd like to know where on this forum could I find a guide for doing so.

Hi!
You may find this post (and the link in it) useful...

Mmm, it only deals with changing the audio, but I'll see if I can make it work for me.

It deals with extracting DVD streams and then re-inserting them. I'm fairly certain that, with some minor adjustment to the directions, you'll be able to apply the same logic to the videostream as that which is used for the audiostream ("Muxman" is the key, isn't it?) ;>}
