Hi
I'm experiencing some strange problems when trying to make WMV-streams from DVD-sources (m2v- and ac3-files demuxed with DVDDecrypter).

Some movies encode just fine but quite a few just wont encode at all and I can't figure out why. I'm not getting any errors but the encoding process just does'nt start. They encode just fine in Windows Media Encoder though which I find odd.

The computer Im using is a p4 3Ghz with 512MB RAM and an integrated graphics card.

Another strange thing is that I run the same version of ProCoder on another computer and all movies work without a problem. This computer runs AMD 3500+ with 1GB RAM and GeForce 6600GT.

Could anyone explain this problem and perhaps guide me in how to fix it?

Could it be a hardware problem? Maybe I need a better graphics card than the integrated one? Should I look in to encoding cards? Maybe more RAM?

Thanks.

Any chance that the ones aren't working use AC-3 audio?

ProCoder doesn't include AC3 decode out of the box. AC3Filter works with it, though.

Also, since AC3 has a random number dither in it, you can't do 2-pass encoding from a AC3 source with many codecs, including the WMA family of codecs.
