From August 11, 2006 Changes.txt- Updated the installer to include AVISYNTH v2.5.6.

Is the following the same version?

Basicly I'm asking is v2.5.6 the same as v2.56?

No, I guess not, the current stable version is from Oct 28 2005 and is called 2.5.6a (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=57023&package_id=72557&release_id=366697).

Yes! Also the above version shows 2.56 without "a"

Cu RippraffThanks? Was your answer a "yes" or a "no"?

Both :D
The first "no" the second "yes", as I wrote. ;)
Edit: To be more clear on the first one, I'm pretty sure jdobbs implemented v2.5.6a as it's a bug fix that was shortly released after 2.5.6.
But I'm not 100% sure about the current RB setup file as I've installed 2.5.6a since a few months.

Well, after reading the readme, I simply uninstalled Avisynth and reinstalled the lot from the installer (I trust it had that version in it :) )

And looking, my avisynth is 2.5.6.0 created 29 Oct 2005 (0244 local time).

RegardsThank you. Such a simple way to get the latest. Now I know I have the latest version supported by DVD-RB Pro. Except mine is October 28, 2005 (18:44:09).

Just a side note:
I compiled that "reduced" AviSynth instalation - reduced due space... it doesn't have any documentation attached - and I believe that is the stable 2.5.6 version.

If for some reason I made a mistake... please let me know so I can fix it, ok?

Just another "heads up"!

You don't need to uninstall DVD Rebuilder to update AviSynth.

Just uninstall AviSynth and run the Installer Package... it will detect that it(AviSynth) is not present on your system and it will install the 2.5.6.

I know that most of you already know this... but I also know that someone will ask about this :D

I've been using version 2.5.7 Alpha 3 for nearly a month now and have come across no problems. :)

Yeah... but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for use with DVD-RB. The problem is that Alphas and Betas have bugs (as they are supposed to). But... when the bug is encountered the report always ends up in the Rebuilder forum... It happened a lot when Avisynth v2.5.6 was still in beta.
