Join 2 DivX Files

I search but did not find a specific answer to a project I have to join a number of DivX files together (utimately to convert to Mpeg2).
The files differ in video rate, and size and audio rate but the same Codec. Is there a way to do this without having to encode each one to the same audio and video first?
VirtualDub and AVIMuxGui both give errors due to the difference in the files. For example

Hi!

Based on your description, it sounds like it would be far easier to FIRST convert each DivX-compressed .AVI to MPEG2 format - and then simply join the MPEG2 files...

Sorry, I am actual trying to join multiple DivX files but gave an example of the file details of two of them.

I would like some instructions on how to do this with the smaller DivX files. Can I convert them separately to the same video size and rate and audio? Can this be done in a batch mode?
