There are some .avi movies encoded with DIVX / XVID that I would like to add in subtitles by myself but I don't know want to reencode the whole movie again, are there any method / program that allows me to add in the subtitles while maintaining the movie's original encoding / without reencoding ?

There are some programs in the sticky thread but I don't know if they can do this. Please help.

Thank you.

avimuxgui will mux subs into your avi(divx/xvid) without reencoding it.

if you have a divx certified player i recomment using divxmuxgui or srt2divx or avisub.

for pc playback only avimuxgui will do

It is generally for PC playback but if it can be played on divx certified player, then it is perfect. May I know by using divxmuxgui or srt2divx or avisub, does the movie needs reencoding?
