I've noticed that a lot of lesser expensive cameras do not have IEEE1394 ports, but have USB ports. Do these USB ports function in a similar way as the IEEE1394 ports for video capture?
That is to say, if someone wants to capture video through a program, like DVIO, will they be able to do so through their USB port, or will they have to make an analog conversion through their S-video or composite port?
I ask because I've had at least one person who had a camcorder without a IEEE1394 port ask how to capture their video and I'm not sure what the process is for cameras without IEEE1394.
