I get this error when trying to open 800mb xvid avi in VdubMod 1.5.10.2. And Vdub 1.6.12 gives error: Mpeg Import Filter: packet sync error on packet stream at position 13395 (PTS marker bits not set). Media Player Classic plays them fine. Mpeg4 Modifier says: Error: At Least one VOL/VOP must be present.

I have 2 files like these, they are cd rips, taken from an old cd, and they are 800mb instead of 700mb.

They are not AVIs, or really broken. Opening an AVI file shoudln't invoke the MPEG parser.

Hi!I have 2 files like these, they are cd rips, taken from an old cd, and they are 800mb instead of 700mb.Although it's hard to understand why you wouldn't be aware of the format of files you've created, try loading one into GSpot, to find out what it really is...

@sumpm1

What are these files and where did you get them?

Well, I didn't createe these files, they are part of my brother in law's collection that I am shrinking down to fit on a couple of DVD's, rather than on a stack of cd's.

Gspot says unknown file type:unknown, and mime type:unknown, so no help there.

Media Player Classic plays them fine and reports that the video is XVID, and the audio is mp3. The thing that gets me is that the files are 800mb, 2 of these files in the collection. And they both get the same errors. I remember using XCD in the past to squeeze an extra 100mb onto a cd. But if that is the case, there would be a problem with Windows reading the cd, and they have already been copied to the hard drive, so that wasn't a problem.
