View Full Version : BBMpeg hangs while running on batch mode in D2SRoBa

Well the thread basically says it all.
I've been using the RoBa plug in to make SVCDs and the
CCE 2.70.

I configure RoBa to the desired settings and then i press go.
Up to there it's all good, then D2S opens up and i also
configure it to the desired settings.

It's as good as candy from here, but when BBMpeg comes
in the picture, it hangs the process to a certain point.
The last encode i did stopped at 99%.

I did read that there's a bug in Windows XP that you can fix
by pressing the Load button and then pressing the Cancel
button as well.

But the thing is, since it's running in batch mode it won't give
me the option to fix the problem since the program starts
right away.

Is there a work around for this problem?

Kudos ^^

DVD2SVCD doesn't support CCE 2.70
Try an older version see if it solves your problem.

Thanks for your reply though.

But, i was able to make an SVCD with CCE 2.70!

I read along some other posts that there's a "patched" .dll
for BBMpeg that can fix the bug for XP.

Would you advise to use that?

Not sure.
The bbMPEG that comes with DVD2SVCD has been modified by the author IIRC.
Perhaps create another installation of DVD2SVCD to a different drive/folder than the default one. You could then try applying the patch to that one and see if it works.

This is not completely true any more. A few days ago ChickenMan pointed me to the latest CCE 2.70 version 2.70.02.10 which also happens to not print a logo into the encode. This version is about 90% compatible with DVD2SVCD. It accepts RB's templates, and with D2SRoBa (Target=DVD) I had no issues at all. Without D2SRoBa I found one small issue. If the template was saved with VBR mode enabled, then selecting CBR in D2S does not work. Same thing the other way around: If the template was saved with CBR enabled, D2S will not encode in VBR.

But the workaround is easy: Instead of two templates (Progressive and Interlaced) you need four: Progressive VBR, Progressive CBR, Interlaced VBR and Interlaced CBR. Then in D2S you just have to specify the correct template in addition to the encoding mode. Just three additional mouse clicks...

I only tested this version in xx2DVD mode. Some more tests would be appreciated before CCE 2.70 can be added to the encoder compatibility list...

Cheers
