Hello. I have some videos that I made which illustrate repairing process. There is contrast problems b/c of lighting and other conditions. I'm actually looking to apply something that will normilize contrast and /or brightness.
Searching avisynth.org site didnt' bring anything.
Please see the example. This is a still photo example. I don't know if same principle can be applied to video. But I hope there is something similair.
first photo is a source, second photo is fixed using auto-contrast and auto-color in photo edit program.

The simplest (and least effective) way is to use ColorYUV(autowhite=true). Here's a couple of other plugins that could help:

I too have been looking for that wonder do it all filter. Below is a post I made on the unoffical Magix US Forum using VideoDeluxe 2006-2007 Plus as a test bed for these filter evaluation. It is far from being finish. I am comparaing "Avisynth & VDdub Plugin"
One feature that started I believe with MEP-2004-2005 and is still there is the abilitly to turn on and off tracks quickly.
In my work, correction is is needed for color-exposure problems. The more I can do automaticly the more work I can do. I have many auto type VDdub and Avisynth plugins, but which is the best?
So I put a test video together from Jpegs from the Russian "VideoMax" site,
http://www.videozona.ru/video_tests/lowmid2006/
where they do extensive testing of camcorders and digital cameras. These files are of various sences made from these products, good and bad.
I then made from that master, 6 AVIs each using a different pluging. I put the master clip on track 7 with all other clips filling tracks 1 thru 6.
Now starting with track 7 I see the original photo. Going up the tracks I set each, one at a time, to solo. I make a note to myself which is the most pleasing and the quality of the original. I move then the curser to the next picture and do the notation over again.
There was no filter that did it all, but one was very much in the lead which was "Avisynth's" HDRagc version 1.85
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=93571
and in second place a filter called "AutoLevel with contrast" not to be confused with "AutoLevels" both VDdub plugins. There are special cases where one of the other plugins was much better, but just for that type of problem.
I will expand on this later.
