Hi,

I'm working through my first ever DVD authoring procedure whereby I'm making a DVD from home movie footage shot with a DV camcorder. I'm using TMPGEnc for mpeg2 encoding and DVD-Lab for authoring. I'm happy with my finished results except for one issue with audio. When I play my dvd on my stand alone player I get audio only through the analog outputs and nothing from SPDIF optical out to my HT receiver. Would I be on the right track by saying that this is because the audio is encoded as mp2 files but really should be AC3?

Rgds,

Thanks for the confirmation Neuron2. I went ahead and did just that with BeLight/BeSweet and now I've got digital audio out, great, however it has shown up some limitations with the original camcorder recording with issues such as pops, clicks etc and what sounds like clipping, distortion in the louder sections. I realise this is moving away from the topic but could you suggest any AC3 editing tools that may be available where i could play around and learn about fixing up these sorts of issues? Thanks.

T... issues such as pops, clicks etc and what sounds like clipping, distortion in the louder sections...
Hi,

As you already use Belight, you may consider going
Mp2-> WAV(with Belight)-> Editing/correcting(with Audacity/Goldwave etc...)-> WAV-> Ac3 (with Belight)

Or use search on audacity, goldwave or google for whatever wav editor available.
