I have been trying to find a way to transcode my files for a while now to a final cut pro compatiable format
i have used a number of drifferent dv codecs without success

the only fcp access I have is on my college campus, all of my home systems are windows based, so i need to be able to make the conversion under windows

any help is greatly appreciated

you could try the QTOutput()-Filter for avisynth. Look here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=104293). Or you could use a tool like the "aDVanced DV File Converter" to convert a DV-avi to DV-mov (this tools just rewrites headers and stuff and copies the original DV-stream). Or you could try to use the divx-Quicktime-inputfilter (http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/) to import the xvid files directly to fcp.
