Hi,

I will be using my new Intel iMac 20-inch dual booting XP and OS X and will be my primary workhorse for my heavy duty DV editing and DVD authoring.

My question is this:

My source is NTSC DV AVIs with timecode information. I would like to use the timecode information (DV timestamp) as subtitle. For testing purposes, I will be trying out Premiere Pro or Edius Pro or any other NLE software to get my MPEG2 files out of the source AVI files. So, at what point do I use subtitling software to get my subtitles and add it to my video? I will be importing all my mpg files from XP into iDVD on iMac. Also, I don't want to burn the subtitles on top of my mpg. Is there a way for me to add the subtitle as a separate track and also can I transfer the subtitles to Mac OS X and then use it in iDVD before burning my DVD-R or DVD-RW?

Appreciate feedback.

Rgds.
