Amended? Does that mean that you took part in defining the profiles? In any case, do these profiles say something about bitrates, Nš of B-Frames and reference frames, Macroblock options and the rest of the features?

Those data are very Generic no mentioning of Levels so Maximum will be Level 4.1 i think ? anyways the biggest problem off all i see in the future is that SAP will be exactly that no HD-DVD only DVD or HD-DVD without AACS i doubt most Asian manufactures will pay AACS licenses so people would have 2 players @ home wich is absolutely unecessary one for Homemade AVC the other for Industry Protected AVC that is wrong.
HD-DVD\Blue-Ray Player manufactures like Toshiba and Sony should open up their Player Firmware for Generic usage not only for example Mpeg-2 HD-DVD (Ulead Software) also AVC in EVO or maybe .mp4. Why do they don't give us what we wan't 1 SPA Box that does it all jesus for what buying a SPA anyway if it allways gets restricted in what it can do. Iam really sick of this Game the industry is playing with us since years now.

It means I installed the last version of Nero6, loaded an MPEG-2 DVD VOB file and identified which audio options were offered to the end-user for each "Nero Profile" option.

I must admit, it was a surprise to learn that 6Ch AAC-HE audio is allowed via their "HDTV" Main Profile. And disappointed to learn that 6Ch AAC-LC audio is not allowed via their "Standard" Main Profile.

I'm with CruNcher though, as I'm not a fan of "Profiles".... I would prefer clearer information from device manufacturers as to their installed chip-sets decoding capabilities.
