Is there a low cost mpeg verifier available?

Professional dvd/mpeg verification software costs thousands so I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper alternative. Perhaps there are programs that will do the eqivalent of part of the whole verification process that when used together would form a more complete analysis? Any suggestions?

P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I couldn't see a more appropriate one.

IMHO the cheapest is Philips Verifier

All it takes is someone to make a comprehensive encoder/authoring app comparison with these verifiers and post it on the web. I doubt those companies would lose many customers, it might even get them new ones.
