Divx and Win XP

Little problem I have.
(Right pain in the arse actually)

Whenever I uncompact an .avi file onto any hard drive on my system I
cannot move or delete it.
The only way I have found is to use a win98 boot disk to go into pure
dos and delete it from there.
Cannot do it from dos in windows and if I reboot it still wont delete.
Have checked everytning I can think of but they still won't bloody
delete.

Any ideas?

When you select an avi in explorer it tries to open it to gather some info which it can show on its status bar. May be something goes wrong and your file remains opened. Try deleting it from the command prompt without viewing it in explorer.
