Which DivX players support AC3 audio from separated AC3 file ?

Also is there some way & programm for decode 5.1 to 4 channel audio ?

Players that I've personally used that support an external audio track are bsplayer and microdvd player, but there are others, too. Another possibility is to use graphedit. But the sync with an external audio track is always worse than having your audio in the avi file, especially if you jump around in the movie. I always prefer to have all (multiple) audiotracks in the avi file directly.

For your second question: do you want to output ac3 sound to a four speaker system or do you want to decode 5.1 to 4 separate wav files? I didn't quite understand what you want. The first thing can be done if you have the intervideo audio filter installed (that's WinDVD's audio filter). In the filter properties you can select 4 channel output.

Maybe I'm stupid, but I don't see that BSplayer & MicroDVD can work with AC3 files...

What you think why I asked first question. Of course that I want to play 4 way via WINDVD's filter from AC3 file. But maybe there is some 4 channel format for audio. Not 4 avi files, one file with 4 channel ?

Bsplayer and microdvd player should work with external ac3 files. I have no files to test this right now, but I remember doing this a while ago, maybe I'll test this tomorrow and report back.

The only - kind of - 4 channel format I know of is Semi's DirectSound 3D filter. It uses 2 stereo wav files, one for the front and one for the back speakers. You can find it on http://teleline.terra.es/personal/mahorna/. That's a spanish page but if you download the zip file there's an english readme included. But I find it's way too much work.

Why are you not happy with the WinDVD filter?

Well, after installing latest card drivers and experimenting a while...
Internal AVI AC3 work good in Bsplayer, MicroDVD & Power DivX. But external work only in Win 2000 and only in BsPlayer & MicroDVD.
However only in Bsplayer work correct, in MicroDVD is not synchronized...

WinDVD filter is OK, but I want spare some place on CD's.
