View Full Version : No sound on downloaded dvd-rip

Hi,

I have a little problem with some of my dvd-rip's i've downloaded these day's ...
When i play them there are no sound's ..... nothing ... first i've tought it was the speed of my cpu .. i've played them on my laptop that is way faster ... nothing there.
My friend told me thant i've only needed to reboot my computer and the file will play correctly ...
But unsuccesfully nothing happen ....
It's like seeing the old movie's with the text written :P but there's no text ......

If someone as encountered this problem, or knows a solutions .... or just refer me to the good place were someone could help me it's very appreciated :0) ....

If these files are divx and you have divx 4.xx running, try to install divx 3.11. It could be that the audio stream is divx audio.

Oké do i need to uninstall the divx 4.XX and reinstall the 3.11 ?!?
Because i've installed the 3.11 over the 4.XX and nothing changed ! ..

like FactorM said, it could be divx audio, or another posibility is that it is the AC3 track form teh dvd, in this case you need to downlaod the ac3-pack and install it by clicking on the appropriate .bat file, (ie: if you are running Win98 then you click on the windows98.bat and respectivaly if you'r running Win2000 you click on teh windows2000.bat)

Ok, i've tryed something :) i've downloaded a player made for the right codec ....
PowerDivX Next Gen 3.11
And play's perfectly :P
Now i regret all the file's deleted because there were no sound ..... ishhh it hurts just to think about it :(
