I've searched high and low, can someone provide a step by step guide to embed subs in mkv container?

Vid is x264, ac3 audio, subs by vobsub.

So I have *.ifo *.idx *.sub to embed with vid and audio in mkv.

It works fine if a have the sub files seperate to the mkv.

I've tried using mmg what mime type do I select?

I'm using MPC for playback, latest haali?

What am I missing?

Mime type is for attachments which you dont want.

You should open the idx or sub file in the input-tab together with the other files you want and then just save.

Fat80y: playback does not work with overlay mixer as videorenderer (at least for me)...

vmr7/9 rendeless works ...

Sorry for bumping from the depths, but I thought it would be more efficient than creating a new thread since I have the same issue.

I have an IDX and SUB file for my MKV. Would I just add those in the input tab and mux without putting anything as an attachment? It won't allow me to select both files without changing the file types to "All Files".

You only need to add the .idx file in the input-tab. MKVMerge will find the .sub file itself so it doesn't need to be added anywhere.
