Hello all.
I use Xvid (1.1.0-30122005 _Final Release_) to encode anything that I want to keep for PC-use and storage. Because well, it's the best (imho).
I use virtualdub (1.6.15).
The "problem" I'm having with the bitrate calculator is that for me it's only accurate when the encoding type is "Single Pass". And by accurate I mean the target size and average bitrate.

If I use either of the Two Pass modes the calculator says one thing and then the result is way off (always bigger apparently).

Can any of you guys point me to another thread or website where the bitrate calculator is explained in depth (because I'm sure this has been asked before), or if you feel like illuminating me, go ahead. I'm like... in the dark, right now.

Regards, and thanks in advance.
/Mav

You might want to try using Gordian Knot. It functions as a bitrate calculator and a GUI for writing your .avs files.
