differenz between "2pass - 2nd pass" and "2 pass - first pass"

Im new to the Divx 4.11 codec . I read in these forums that 2 pass encoding is better...

But I dont know which 2 pass way I should choose....

Whats the difference between 2pass - first pass and 2 pass - second pass

I can choose those two in Xmpeg 4.2a

I just encountered another problem...

When I try to make a movie with 2 pass encoding , I dont have a audio stream...If I change back to 1 pass , the audio stream is there...what can I do ?
