VOB to VC-1 Encoding

Can anyone explain to me or show me a link to do this? I just can't figure it out. Also I want to keep the AC3 audio.

VOB to VC-1 Encoding
some avisynth-knowledge + Nics WMV encoder (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=111385) + mkvtoolnix should do the trick

Also I want to keep the AC3 audio.
then you probably have to use mkv as container

then you probably have to use mkv as containeror .mpg (but i doubt there is a smpte spec compliant vc-1 mpg muxer)

I guess thats what my problem is which is that I have no real idea how to use AviSynth. Is there a good way on how to figure that part out?
