View Full Version : How do standalone players handle 480x480?

I have quite a few television caps in 480x480 (I stretch them to 4:3 with MPC)... how would most/your/some player(s) you know of handle this sort of video?

I' sort of hoping they would be displayed 1:1 with black bars at the sides on a 4:3 screen, and that I could adjust the width through the tv options, but... maybe I'm being optimistic? :P

For raw mpegs sitting as files on a DVD, one player I have just stretches the video out to 4:3 while another I had would play it 1:1. The only way to know for sure how your player will work is to burn a disc and test it.
