help on no picture

hi i have some video clips in avi format and when i try to play it there's no pictures. i've tried many types of player but none work there's only sound no picture so can someone please help. oh and i'm using win xp.

The video codec is missing in this case i think.

hey, i have the same touble.
i've dl'd a whole host of codecs and "avi players" but all to no avail.
I even got power dvdix (sp?)

Download avic from Doom9's page (called avi fourcc changer) which will show you the forcc code of the movie. Perhaps it helps on finding out what codec is used.
